Southern NJ Go Red for Women Chairman Supports Heart Health for All

The American Heart Association recently announced William Kwelty, Senior Executive, Holman Enterprises, will serve as chair of the Southern NJ Go Red for Women Luncheon scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Mansion on Main Street in Voorhees, NJ.

The Go Red for Women Luncheon is one of the premier women’s events in South Jersey focusing on cardiovascular health and wellness in women.  As a cornerstone piece of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, this social-educational event focuses attention on uniting women to prevent or survive the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of women – heart disease and stroke.  Nationally sponsored by CVS Health and locally sponsored by Holman Enterprises and media sponsors NJBiz, SJ Magazine and SNJ Today, this vibrant movement inspires women to make lifestyle changes, mobilize communities and shape policies to save lives.

Kwelty, the first male to chair the event, is passionate about sharing the message of Go Red for Women with both men and women of the community. In his role, he will engage local business and community leaders in empowering women to get informed about the risks of heart disease and stroke and to make healthy lifestyle changes.

“I’m excited to use this opportunity to educate other men to know the symptoms of heart disease in women and to encourage their loved ones to get checked out when they don’t feel well and to have regular check-ups with their doctors,” stated Kwelty.

Kwelty began his career with the Holman organization in 1967 and helped lead the charge to bring ARI and the Holman organization into the computer age. He served as ARI’s CIO for many years and later in his career he led and expanded the Holman Enterprises employee engagement and reward program where he was able to work more deeply in the South Jersey community. He is married to his wife of 45 years and has three children and seven grandchildren.

“I’m also excited to represent men’s heart health as well – encouraging men and women to make heart healthy choices and live longer healthier lives,” continued Kwelty. “I’m honored to work with the American Heart Association to bring lifesaving information and resources to our community.”

Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.  Heart disease and stroke kill 1 in 3 women – more than all cancers combined.  The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.  Women who Go Red live healthier lives.

The Go Red For Women Luncheon raises funds to support this lifesaving movement, supporting cutting-edge research, community programs and professional education focused on cardiovascular health.
