American Heart Association National EAT SMART Month Resources
Dear Healthy Foods, Healthy Eating Champion!
Change a little. Change a lot. Welcome to our resource BLOG to support 2018 American Heart Association National EAT SMART Month (Nov.) and National EAT SMART Day on November 7. It gives the American Heart Association great pleasure to provide you with these FREE resources.
National EAT SMART Month and National EAT SMART Day on November 7 are opportunities for millions of people to kick off a healthier lifestyle, but it’s also about having fun and creating community. These are national public awareness observances focusing on making small, simple changes to incorporate healthier foods into a daily diet. The American Heart Association encourages you to raise awareness, share information and resources with your audiences, and consider holding some type of healthy foods or healthy eating activity on Wednesday, November 7 – National EAT SMART Day – or anytime during November.
Consider supporting the “Help Solve Hunger, New Jersey Healthy Foods Donation Campaign” by organizing and holding a healthy foods drive at your organization. Nearly 1 million New Jerseyans rely on food banks/food pantries, but healthy choices are not readily available. During this season of giving thanks, our fellow New Jerseyans could use our help. Refer to accompanying resources to support your efforts.
Be active on social media. Include #LifeisWhyNJ in all of your social media posts. Tell us about your EAT SMART Month activities. Please share photos of your “Help Solve Hunger, New Jersey Healthy Foods Donation Campaign.” Share photos of creative, healthy, tasty and delicious activities or events.
